Aster Blur
With the demands of my new job, and the wind that seems to be blowing constantly around here, I haven't been able to take any new pictures. So, I dug into my archives to create the image you see here. Hope you enjoy it.
I captured this aster in my neighbor's garden in Fort Collins, Colorado. (Zuiko 50mm macro, f/2.5, 1/2500 sec., 100 ISO, handheld)

Strawberries and Cream
I haven't had time to get out and shoot any new macros lately. So, here's another poppy from several weeks ago. I shot this one wide open in order to get the effect you see here. Hence the name - Strawberries and Cream. Hope you like it ...and can bear with me for my reduncancy.
I captured this poppy in a garden near my brother's house in Dallas, Texas. (Zuiko 50mm macro, f/2.0, 1/250 sec., 100 ISO, handheld)

No Access to Blogger
I can no longer access my blog account. Seems I've forgotten my password, and the email account that I used to establish my blog account has been deactivated (by me). So, I'm stuck in a loop. I can ask Blogger to send me my password, but they send it to an email address that not longer works.
My only access to Blogger is via Flickr. I can post new photos, but that's it. If you know of a way for me to notify Blogger that I changed my email address I'd love to hear it. So far I haven't been able to find a way to contact Blogger. And that's been very irritating.

What is wrong with some people?
I took this photo on some undeveloped land near my apartment less than a week ago. On my way home from work this evening I noticed that this field had been mowed. What would possess someone to do such a thing? Wow, I am completely dumbfounded.

Solo
If I'd had more daylight I might have been able to find a better specimen, but time wasn't on my side. I captured this Texas Bluebonnet (Lupinus texensis) in Austin, Texas. (Zuiko 50mm macro, f/4.0, 1/200 sec., 100 ISO, handheld)

Bluebonnet Blur (Abstract)
I had about 15 minutes of sunlight this evening after I got home from work and captured these bluebonnets. I took this particular shot hoping it would have some artistic possibilities. I think it did.

Why They're Called Bluebonnets
Made it to Texas a little over a month ago. I've been too busy to spend any time taking pictures or playing on Flickr until today. I got a brief break in the weather late in the day and took this shot on the side of I-35. Shortly thereafter I was accosted by a police officer who said, "it is against the law to take pictures on the highway" and that I must leave immediately, or something to that effect. Thank goodness there isn't any real crime going on in Austin.

Mama's Iris
My brother procured numerous iris bulbs from my mother's garden, 20 years after she died of cancer. He gave me this one to plant in my Fort Collins' garden. A treasure I'll leave behind.

Good-bye Fort Collins!
I've accepted a job offer from an engineering firm in Austin, Texas called, Bury+Partners. My starting date will be February 13th. Needless to say, I will be very busy over the next five weeks. I am extremely grateful to have this opportunity! I'll see you down the road.

P.S. - I have certainly enjoyed photographing the beautiful flowers at the CSU gardens over the past three summers. I will miss having easy access to such amazing specimens. Luckily for me, Austin has the Zilker Botanical Gardens and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
